Procrastination

The more you delay your tasks, the more your mind gets weighed down by the thought of everything you still have to do. The more you keep thinking about it, the more energy you expend and the more stressed you get.

What to do about it?

There are a few reasons why you may be procrastinating:

  1. The task is not important
  2. The task is unclear
  3. The task is too big
  4. You don't want to experience failure if it doing it does not end up successful

The most important thing is to understand how the task is important to you. If it's neither important, nor urgent, then you should not do it altogether. If it's urgent but not important to you, then try delegating it.

When it's not clear what exactly needs to be done, you will feel confused and unsure where to start, especially if it's also big. So start splitting it into smaller chunks of work and check them off as you finish them.

At the end of the day, you only need to know the next thing to work on and the big picture. Trying to think about all of the things that you need to do causes unnecessary stress.

All of this applies if you fear failure when doing something. Chunk the task into smaller tasks that you deem achievable and work on them one by one.
